Joya has been in the business of bringing buyers and sellers in Maryland and Washington, DC together since 2004. She got her start in the industry in 1999 as a real estate assistant and is affiliated with Fairfax Realty, a company that has served buyers and sellers throughout the DC Metropolitan Area since 1988. As one of the largest and fastest growing companies in the area, Fairfax Realty is proud to have been recognized by Washington Business Journal and named in Realtor Magazine's Top 100 Companies. Joya's areas of expertise include working with first-time homebuyer programs in the DC and Maryland area. She also has firsthand experience in handling short sales, assisting investor clients in finding properties to renovate and sell, and working on extreme renovations to existing homes. Among her specialties, Joya is well versed in working with land and new construction and project management, and is training to receive her certification from the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing.
Joya has earned the Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification, is a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), and has received the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation. She also received her mortgage license for the State of Maryland in 2006. Born and raised in Washington, DC and Prince George's County, MD, Joya currently lives in College Park, MD with her family and her two greatest accomplishments: her son, Jahzeel, and daughter, Jayla.
Joya founded Positive Minded Sisters (PMS) in 1996 and the organization was quickly incorporated in 2001. PMS is a women-owned Limited Liability Corporation enhances the lives of individuals and groups through job placement, empowerment, skills training, education and counseling. Through the PMS Professional Development Mentor Program, Joya is able to help those individuals find permanent jobs and enhance their lives and accomplish their long-term career goals.
